Profitably grow sales and market share by building successful customer relationships, effective prospecting, and target account development. Establish Rodda Paint as the primary supplier in given market region.
Meet and achieve short and long-term financial, strategic, and personal performance objectives as set forth by management. Effective time management and “territory planning” are essential skills that will be required to increase sales and margin to existing customers while developing new relationships with target accounts within a wide variety of customer segments. Ability to work independently and be a self-starter; to follow supervisor’s instructions and work cooperatively with co-workers; maintain regular and timely attendance.

Business Development and Management:
- Aggressively grow sales and margins through excellent relationship skills and effective prospecting.
- Maintain ongoing contact with existing customers to grow market share.
- Establish Rodda as the primary supplier to all existing customers.
- Active prospecting, lead generation and new account development.
- Practical use of strategic pricing to maximize margin.
- Effective territory planning to ensure customer / market segment diversity.
- Effective market intelligence to ensure a thorough understanding of our competitors and their position in the market
Technical Proficiency:
- Demonstrate innovative and creative ways to positively differentiate ourselves from our competitors.
- Solving problems by asking, “What is best for my customer?”
- Complete knowledge and understanding of Rodda credit policies, bad debt at or below budgeted levels.
- Maintain territory expenses at or below budgeted levels.
- Demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of all aspects of business and the ability to transfer knowledge to others.
- Possess vast knowledge of all Rodda mfg. and related products.
- Possess a good working knowledge of key related products that complement the Rodda offering.
- Provide excellent advice regarding specification, application, surface prep, as well as assisting in trouble shooting and problem solving.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of competitive products and product trends.
- Demonstrate excellent “Time Management” and “Territory Planning” skills.
- Master all phases of company software and hardware as it relates to the position.
- Complete understanding of Rodda credit policies and the six ways to sell paint on credit.
- Ensure professional and accurate communications, both internally and externally.
