Wood Coating Specialist

Responsible for participating as a team member of the Wood Coatings Department, providing exceptional performance in the areas of customer service, product sales, stain matching and operating processes. Support store management in day-to-day operations of the store.

? Customer Service and Operations
? Answer basic customer inquiries in person and by phone
? Determine and recommend products to customers, ensure the customer is supplied with all items required for their project
? Accurate tinting and shaking of paint
? Ability to learn new technologies
? Match custom stains and other wood coatings products
? Operate basic functions in the POS system, i.e. processing of sales, product inquiries, etc.
? Record information in customer color history files
? Rotate and putting away stock
? Shipping and receiving duties
? Operate pallet jacks, loading and unloading trucks
? All other duties as assigned – AOR’s (Areas of Responsibilities)
? Security and protection of corporate assets

? Timely and predictable attendance is a requirement of all Rodda Paint positions.
? Basic knowledge of wood coatings core product line
? Tinting paint and stains based on formulated colors
? Write SOPs when required
? Troubleshoot equipment and materials
? Knowledge of how to use color matching computer
? Completion of all required safety and job knowledge training including but not limited to HMIS (Hazardous Material Identification System), Transportation and Handling of Dangerous Goods training
? Forklift certification, if required
? Scheduling and reporting of this position must remain flexible and available given the contingencies of the business and company
? Possess a collaborative, positive attitude when dealing with customers and peers
? Required and responsible for using and maintaining supplied PPE (personal protection equipment) in order to perform duties.
? With rare exception, the ability to legally drive on business is an essential function of all store positions. Employee must be in possession of an active, valid, unrestricted driver’s license in the state of residence and sustain a DMV record, which is consistent with company safe-driving guidelines.
? High School Graduate or GED Equivalent
? Fully conversant (speaking, listening), fluent in reading and writing English is essential to the job; ability to converse in a second language is desirable

The work environment consists of physical conditions typical of a retail store, sales floor environment. The job is performed while standing with regular walking and the lifting and carrying of various paint containers and related items. Full-physical mobility is required to the performance of every store position.
